Female killers have also been reported to kill for different reasons. The reality is, a lot of men are stronger than women, so a physical attack is just realistically harder for a female killer to win. This may be due to actual injustices or mistreatment (like Ed Kemper's treatment by his mother), or may be due to perceived wrongs that they feel they have suffered.Īs for why women don't target men, I think #1 helps to address that. Chinese males have privilege in China and are the most successful serial killers there. It does seem quite common for misogyny to weave it's way into the narrative. Not to say women are weak, but that is the societal perception. Brown also wrote in her book that there has been over-reporting when it comes to white male killers because, as a whole, there is less focus on killers in urban areas where crime rates are higher overall. I think the main reason is that they want a 'weaker' victim that they will be able to subdue. If you look at female serial killers, many seem to target the elderly, children or vulnerable members of society. Serial killers tend to kill those who are more vulnerable or those who are easier targets.
